YouTube has been invaluable as a teacher for me learning crochet and now knitting. But I also have a friend locally who knits, so I’m very grateful for that too.

Ah that’s lovely. Sounds like the perfect mix! 🧶

Step away is the my favourite thing to do when I’m stuck with my creative projects. But I also like to combine it with going for a walk and getting some fresh air.

Sounds lovely. It can often be in those times our brain is working away at a solution to the problem

I agree that the videos on You Tube are an amazing resource. There is always something just right to solve the problem. Also, I went to a workshop and it was so inspiring, but then I didn't finish the project in the class and got stuck once I was home. Perhaps I need to go back to You Tube!

Such a great resource. I think I used it for 3 or 4 things in my latest project. Like having a tutor in your pocket. Is there anything else you think could help finish the workshop project?

Step away is the big one for me. Often I find myself just too close to the problem and carrying on can lead to me doing more harm than good. Stepping back and doing something completely different is often the key for me. It gives my brain space to puzzle over it and come up with a different thing to try.

Yes I can definitely relate to this. Sometimes forcing it just doesn’t work and taking a breather can really help. My brain can work out a different approach when I’m doing something totally unrelated like going for a walk or in the shower!
